I use various hitches , including the single and double diamond. The single thread or tuck method, the double is a thread hitch. The double can be morphed into a triple

Yep,I use it all the time. Mostly double diamonds as I usually have soft top packs, but at times single diamonds. Check out my FB page and scroll down aways. There is a video a guy took when I was showing him how. You can do it a might easier using carribiners and not having to thread the lash rope

If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

Yup. Watch your top knot.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.

I used to guide for a camp in the thorofare, sold now. Anyway, our entire camp was packed in and out using nothing but single diamonds. There might have been about 1 double tied per year.
