Not quite in keeping with the other entries here, but first thought was of William Munny at the bar just prior to shooting Little Bill for the second time. The scene is just a few seconds of him.. wraith-like, gulping whiskey. Very effective
Definitely Martin Sheen in the Apocalypse Now, scene. In the hotel, after receiving his orders, because A) he absolutely and entirely was FUGGED up black-out COCKED for the filming of the scene B) there was no script to it at all, he was just black-out cocked, was his birthday, had recently received divorce papers, annnnd had a heart attack on-set after the conclusion of filming that. When he busted the mirror and was doing all that cockamamie Thai Chi [bleep], he was fuggin BLACKED OUT. When he started bleeding from the mirror- punch, it was cuz he punched the stupid mirror and started bleeding everywhere. Idiot. Genius filming though.
Sorry, that’s not a Western. I like the scene in Josey Whales when the two trappers are cocked and working the injun girl over before Clint unloads on them.
