Are these more valuable than I realize? Reason I ask is, in the last 3 months I have purchased new from the store a 457 Trainer for $450.00 plus tax and a 457 American for $500.00 plus tax, and I have seen many more available for the same pricing new. I'm not trying to devalue anything, just wondering if there is something that makes this worth more?

The main difference is the 452 barrel is screwed into the receiver like all centerfire rifle barrels and yours are held in place with a couple set screws. This rifle has a Timney trigger in it. The 457 American MSRP is $515.00

I have one of these in lefty. It is a ragged one-holer. The Timney trigger is a big +.

The 457 American MSRP is $515.00 I'd take a 452 over a 455/457 every day of the week , I've looked at this thread a couple of times - your price now is a good buy . Best luck - fine fine 22lr for sure .

The 457 American MSRP is $515.00 Those are the differences. But a few other subtleties with the 457 that are very desirable. I actually purchased a 455 American in 17 HMR to compliment my 452V in 17 HMR. I kept the American and sold the 452. Guess swear up and down that set-screws aren't a good system, but it does allow switch-barrel guns. Some of the world's finest sniper rifles have barrels that are now held in with a set-screw. You can't give away the old versions of AIs without the quick-change barrels but the AXMC variants are widely loved. The 452s are great rifles and still highly sought-after. If you like yours its a fine rifle. The 455s and 457s are also fine rifles and one should feel under-gunned because they don't have a 452. Fine rifle OP has and it is a more than fair price. Good luck with the sale, sir!

I have a 452 American. I free floated the barrel and switched a spring and polished the sear engagement. It is a outstanding value in a quality bolt 22.
Good Luck with your sale!
