I went to a gun show today and it cracked me up it should have been called the 9 mm ammo show .I saw 50 different tables with just 9 mm ammo trying to get $1 each for it .I asked one guy he had 50000 rounds of it to sell .It caused people to actually buy nothing almost . They also ruin the gun show with too many knives.I got one of them back today the guy was selling knife sharpeners and I asked if they would sharpen a cold steel knife .I had one with a tanto blade .He said bring your knives and I will sharpen them well I went back to the truck and got 6 cold steel knives .He did sharpen all 6 but by the last two he was worn out and the sharpener didn't do so hot on the cold steel japaneese knives .I didn't see a gun that was even a good deal or any ammo .I did buy a set of dillion 303 British dies for $20 and three ramline 1022 25 rd mags for $40 .THEN a guy heard me talking about casting bullets his eyes lit up .He said I got just what you need .I was thinking maybe a bargin .He had a ton of casting stuff all 39 years old or older and some was 75 years old he said .He wanted full retail .I said I paid $20000 for my mustang 32 years ago but I can't get that today .He wanted me to buy everything casting wise he had buy out of 50 things he had only needed the lead melting furnace and sizer and lynotype .He had bullet molds and other stuff and I offered to buy it all for a decient price but oh no he wanted retail .Gunbroker gets in these people's heads and makes them believe that everything on there sells for that price . There is no telling whats next with the wackos in Washington .They could ban lead and primers and screw us all .I just hate to see people getting ripped off from all the horrding from gun shows!

The weekend warriors and entrepreneur wannabes have polluted the gun shows for years now. The current jerkoffs that have taken over the shows have ridiculous expectations and room temperature IQ’s. There’s so much unmerited attitude by drooling vendors that I can’t stomach it.......well....that and every other dick-wad that’s looking to buy his first “gack” is a SEAL or Sniper. 😂
I’d rather give the entrance fee to a bum.

so tell me where else you will find the stuff you need? if you need it now then pay the price or STFU. most of the guys at the gun show spend there hard earned money supporting your rights while most on the internet just set back and bitch.i can always find way better prices at the gunshows than anywhere else. sure some are stupid priced but its the same thing at some gunshops. the gunshows are not as good as they used to be because lots of ffl's can not find anything to sell and have stopped doing the shows and promoters have been forced to let all of the junk vendors in the shows to fill the place up.
the promoters here in virginia are spending thousands of dollars just to keep the shows up and running. the idiot governor we have is doing everything he can to pass more stupid gun laws and he wants the gunshows gone. one promoter spent 30,000 fighting them in court on one show and lost that court battle. its tough times in the gun industry everywhere right now.

I just went to a gunshow yesterday myself. There were some scalpers who were not well received by the public. Heard some face to face nastiness between dealers and public. Primers at $25 a box of 100 and powder at $95 a pound was met with derision and ridicule. Dealers are in a tough spot because many shows are a bust barely making ends meet or going in the hole. If they price their goods at what they sold for yesterday they'd sell out in an hour and their goods would be marked up and sold the next day by someone else at 3x. What would you do if you were in business?
There were others there with some reasonably marked up supplies that were selling like hot cakes. I found a pound of magpro for $20, and leverevolution for $40. 30/30 cartridges were selling for $3 or more each but I found a stash of 32-40 ammo and brass for <$1 a piece. I got the impression that the better buys were guys selling out their private inventory and were not dealers. Can't say the thought hadn't crossed my mind of cleaning out 75% of everything I own at today's prices and moving on.

The market is going to work this out.
These no job, get rich quick, ebt holders who line up Sunday night with meemaw and their 14 kids to buy ammo when the truck comes Monday morning so they make 92 dollars profit reselling will get caught holding it.
People won't pay $1/round of 9mm at some point and these idiots will move back to stealing your compressor out of your a/c for the copper and aluminum.

I used to enjoy gun shows 20-30 years ago. Some deals could be had then.

That is not hoarding. He's not keeping it. He's trying to sell. When it doesn't sell at ridiculous prices, he will lower his prices.. or THEN he will hoard. Nope. Akin to people buying plywood and generators AFTER the hurricane.
It's hard for me to blame all the sellers. It's not their job to ensure low prices and availability.
Prices and supply haven't stabilized because the political uncertainty surrounding the Second Amendment hasn't stabilized either.

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that you own a house that's been appraised at $200,000. For whatever the reason, property in your neighborhood suddenly becomes a hot commodity, and property values go up almost double. Someone comes along and offers you the appraised value of your home............are you going to sell it at the $200,000 figure, or are you going to ask for the current going rate of double that?
That's what's happening in the guns and ammo department, and people need to understand that it's a market driven time period we're living in, and prices are what they are. Personally, I've sold a few guns that I decided I'd be better off selling than keeping, and have made more off the sales than I thought I would. But, right now, demand is the factor that's driving the market and dictating selling prices. You have two choices...........either pay what someone is asking, or don't.
As is usually the case, I believe the market will correct itself, and at some point in the future prices will get back more in line as they should be. But, until then, we're in a sellers market, and you'd best get used to it.

The guys that have ammo now did NOT contribute to any ammo shortage we are experiencing currently.
They had the foresight to buy it when it was cheap, plentiful and readily available.
What contributes most of all to any shortages is the people who weren't prepared, and buy all they can get their hands on.

I haven’t been to a gun show in a while. I’ll usually buy some odd accessories or brass if at a good price. I’m leery of buying powder at gun shows since who know what is in the canister or how it’s been stored. Looking at the freak show inside is often worth the price of admission. Happy Trails
