If it moves and shouldn’t - Duct tape
If it doesn’t move and should - WD40

Sad how times have changed. Duct tape, dry wall screws but no mention of bailing wire. Probably because all the hay bales I have opened for a very long time use synthetic twine. But I did repair many items with bailing wire! Then it evolved to metal coat hangers and even those are getting hard to find.

The more stuff you attempt the better you get. You can get pretty good at doing a wide range of repairs if you live long enough.

We had a few mottos in the shop classes I taught for just over 40 yrs. We have done so much with so little for so long, we can now do anything with nothing. (Amazing what you can do with a screwdriver, hammer and pliers. Generally not used correctly by the way)

Best motto to come from the time I taught High School Auto: you drive it in we push it out.

You don't need duct tape on a ship that can't sink.

If you fixed it with cardboard & duct tape I'd say that's pretty handy.

Always refreshing to see someone admit that he has shortcomings.
