Just a heads up, not sure if I’m lucky or just hit them at the right time but I ordered a 1-7.5 twist .277 barrel last month and it shipped yesterday. They said when I ordered it could be up to 12 months.
I think so of the “wait” for barrels might be the makers saying long times just to cover their backs but so far I haven’t seen huge wait times. Just thought I’d pass it along.

Krieger is one of the few I'd be willing to wait for.

Darn I saw the 12 month wait time and didn't order.
No problem I have one K&P barrel in hand and another due in two weeks. The one I have looks beautiful, fully the equal to a Krieger. And K&P will do lighter weight stainless barrels unlike Krieger. I will have a shoot out between Krieger, Bartlein, & K&P barrels and I am willing to bet that any differences are beyond this shooters abilities, at least in hunting weight rifles.

I have chambered a number of Krieger barrels.
But any premium barrel is way better than me; Benchmark, Bartlein, Krieger, Shilen select match, Pac Nor, Lilja, Lothar Walther, Hart, and probably others I do not own.

Service after the sale is an important issue. Some of the above have great service if and when there is a problem and others have Schitt for service...I will make no further comments.

I always wanted to try a Broughton, but they sure were pricey. I believe they sold, and a newer company was going to continue making them?
The last few years I've stuck with Krieger....

yes i know tim north the owner was getting out.i ran 9 of his barrels in different calibers.the originals plus his c barrel rifling.never had a barrel from tim that was not exceptional.i also was told that someone bought him out.that was awhile ago, waiting to hear about who and what they will offer.they will have a real challenge on there hands keeping to quality of tims barrels.there is another maker out there the last few years named dan muller,he worked with tim at broughton and also at rock creek.dans buisness is called mullerworks barrels, both button and cut rifled.i feel that as of right now they are the new standard in excellence.that being said you have more options now and quality makers its hard to go wrong.
