Would it be sacrilege to suggest that the 7x64 B needs an “improved” update ? Say 30 - 35 degrees, and a .460” shoulder diameter to take the excess taper out ... This is in contrast to the 20 degree, .425” shoulder that feeds so well 😉 I always wonder what Mauser or Brenneke or even Browning would think of "new and improved" cartridges.

I have a Mauser model 66 I brought back from Germany back in 85 from serving in the Army. Killed many a Roe deer with it over there. Shot a black bear in Maine with some Norma ammo in 91, and a nice whitetail in Montana in 93 with a handloaded 160 gr partition. Has a 6x Akah scope in claw mounts. Haven't shot it in years. I just may get her out a relive some hunts from a few years back....

My local sportsman’s has 7x64 140 core lokts for $29.99 a box. Apparently no one around here has one. Same here in Alaska.
