Actually there were probably 2000 heavy barrel E models; maybe 500 International E models and yes maybe just 37 Prone E models made by Winchester during the E series production. Winchester made a lot more E models than were reported in Houze’s book. Steve Emmert, one of the most knowledgeable about these rifles has a database where he receives and collects data on the actual production counts. While incomplete the numbers clearly show there are more E’s than reported in the book.

Win 52D or Win 52E. Good luck. I Haven't seen a 52 in decades. They might get past me at the LGS's, though. It seems they get their new used stock in batches. Maybe gun show buys, or somebody walking in who wants to sell all of granddad's stuff.. I don't know.
