A 458WM is the perfect bolt gun... 458 Lott is even better.
Full performance loads are obviously very strong.
But, since all belted Magnum brass (except the 3 big Weatherby) is born as .458WM brass (before shoulder and necking)... ANY BELTED MAGNUM BRASS CAN BE CUT OFF AND USED.
I know this because I have done it a whole lot.
The brass can be loaded to 45 70 specifications easily. It can be loaded lighter if you so desire.
I shoot subsonic loads up to 730 grain bullets whisper quiet.
You can also use very lightweight bullets and a stiff charge and render the gun useful to 400+ yards. Bullet jump in big bore calibers is irrelevant to accuracy.
What is also super fun is that you can use 458 brass as shotshells... just make sure you're not using a suppressor.
