They are part of Treasury, not Justice, for a reason. To do the dirty work that the FBI is too high profile to do. The Attorney General gets hauled in front of Congress a lot more often than the Treasury Secretary. The majority of people in this country had never heard of BATF until Waco, by the way. "The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is a federal law enforcement organization within the United States Department of Justice." I forgot, they switched them to Justice as part of the PATRIOT Act. We're now seeing the fruits of that poisonous tree, but that's a whole 'nother thread..

I just received a call from a “representative” of the NRA who appeared to be nearly illiterate and doing her best to read from a script about the push by Dems for further gun control. I stopped her and let her know they won’t see another penny from me until they show an effort to stop squandering member resources and use their dwindling clout in some noticeable manner.

Where you stand with regards to the NRA's position and how you feel about them is not what I'm asking. Have you considered WHO brought to light the wrongdoings within the NRA. It all came down before a major election knowing they were one (if not the most) powerful lobbying group in the nation. Ponder that for a minute...
