I went to a buddies to watch a uga game, pot of chili on the counter, we tore it up, wife came in with the beans to put in it. We never even noticed it didn't have beans in it. There was nothing left to put beans in. My wife puts way to many beans in the chili, cant stand it

So tell her that. Life's too short to suffer bad chili in silence. If she cares, she’ll accommodate you. If not, you got bigger problems than beans in chili.
