Any if those should be pretty good.

Since first trying it a number of years ago with the 125 Sierra PH, I've also loaded the 125 BT, 125 AB, 130 Hdy SP, 125 Hdy GMX, and most recently, the 125 Sierra TGK. I have not tried the 125 Hdy HP. But, all of those listed did well somewhere between 44.5 and 46.5 gn. The 125 Nosler pair have a nearly identical POI with 46.0 gn, entirely interchangeable.

Good luck and shoot straight y'all

All good information, thank you.

I've loaded them for kids....

with any of the loads I recommend for kids... 30 grains of 4198 or RL 7....

not max velocity, but equate to a very effective 30/30 or 300 Savage load equivalent,

and just as effective as faster velocities, if not moreso...

You can just about load up 125gr Sierra pro Hunters with 44.5 gr's H4895 esp. out of a 1-12 twist rifle and go hunting. These bullets flat out shoot & make pretty good whitetail bullets.

I would have got him too but a Dad Blam snow flake hit me in da eye....

ALWAYS IMR Cliff.....

If not, then RL 7...

H 4198 is a distant third for accuracy and shot to shot consistency...

I was afraid you were going to say that.

I use RL15 in my 308 Hawkeye, I use it for 125gr and 165gr speer bullets. My rifle seems to like 1 grain under Speer's published max charges for those 2 bullets.

308s are just great with about most any reasonable or 3/4 reduced type loads with Varget speed powders.
I used 4064 until I tried Varget .
As a fire form load (that has shocked me group size wise) is any 125 0R 150 grains over 40 grains of Varget. I call it the 30/40 load.
In working up an F class load, TOO much Varget will push a 155s at 3000 fps in a 30 " Savage barrel.
I ran out of 4895 because nothing works better in my .223s.
.....However, I tried BenchMark. Such a great metering powder it has replaced 4895 for my use in 308s.
30 years ago I bought 748 by the jug and used it with perfect results in a range of 308 and 30'06 125 grain game and 200 yard Match loads.

As I recall no powder tried in 308s was...bad or even average, Very Good to Cannot Believe it was that Good!
I too was a 30 grains of 4198 fan. Then I ran out so tried 2015 reduced to 29,28,and 27 grains looking for a better 200 yard practice load.
I keep good records and even targets and they all would touch in 20 shot 200 yard full effort bench rest groups...they look like a 2 yard target shot with buck shot.

You are all set with Varget but do not walk bast a can of BenchMark.

Perfect timing. Picked up a box of 125 GMX this past Saturday.
Times being what they are I don't want to burn a lot of them in load development.
I've got some W748, Varget, Imr 4895 , & R15 on hand. I'll probably choose what I've got the most of.
I hope I get lucky.
If you have a load for this particular bullet (GMX) or 125s' in general for 308 Win. or 30/06 for that matter, please mention it.

tia...
