I think Billy Goat should be included too. But, I have no right to comment on what a man chooses to drink. Than again, commenting without a right to is what this joint is all about, no?

I was at a family wedding and a waiter came by with a tray of wine. My brother grabbed a glass of some sort of white wine, I guffawed. I ordered a Scotch and asked if he had anything gayer for my my brother. The waiter laughed. Everyone else laughed. My brother realized I was right and looked dejected. He deserved it.

Running a little low today though.
Lost a 100lb calf last night, leg back hard pull.
Didn't get back home until 4AM.
Heifer is fine though, grafted a bum on her right after she got up and all is well.

Geno, we picked up another bum out of the main herd this morning. Third one so far this year, small calf, probably a twin that nursed at birth and then was brushed off by the cow. A cow will only allow her calf to nurse so you have to fool them with the bum. Heifers are easier to fool than an older cow. This latest calf was really easy to hook up, I rubbed it down with the cow's 'birth juice' and took a piece of the birth sack and wrapped it on the calf. Heifer didn't have a clue and started licking it clean. Sometimes you have to skin the dead calf and place the hide on the bum. That's a nasty job that I try to avoid. About a dozen new calves last night with the cows and 3 new ones with the heifers this afternoon. Had to pull another but it was an easy one. Much rather deal with that at 3PM versus 3AM!
