They are on my radar for a sako 85.
I am looking for a trim stock with a fairly open grip, traditional cheek piece and “checkering”. I would like a little cant and camber as well. I know they will build to spec.
Just looking for opinions

I have about 6 of them. My Sako 85 wears one. I think it is my best. It is a Dakota Classic pattern, love it. My Wby Mk V is in a Remington 700 Classic pattern. One Remington 700 308. And, my Ruger 77 Mk II is fitted to a Kimber stock.
All of these are MG Arms. I prefer them to McMillan for sure. Much more value for the price & customer service is impeccable. Kerry O’ Day owns the shop, Scott builds the stocks & Carol O’ Day does the painting of the stocks. She is quite good at it.
Be happy to send you pictures.

Reloader, Do you know if MG made the stock for the Dakota 97 classic? I had been under the impression it was MPI but your statement above has me curious.
Thanks, and sorry for the minor diversion OP.

Approximately five years ago, I had MG Arms build a lightweight Kimber pattern stock for a Ruger 77 MK II. Was less than impressed with the quality.

I did exactly the same & had the same initial result. Took it back & they fixed my concern post haste. Have been very satisfied with customer service after the sale. One might say you shouldn’t have to need it. But, stuff happens & it got righted to my satisfaction. Have had issues with McMillan too. Was NOT happy with their CS.
