Remember, many of Cains descendants went to work for the lower empire of Israel which separated from the upper, northern empire.

The southern empire of Israel maintained their location on earth after capture first by Babylon and later by Rome.

The northern empire was defeated and taken captive by Assyria and moved north and east from its previous location adjoining the southern empire.
