Don’t know who the seller is, but the shop is located in Murfreesboro TN where Barrett HQ is located (thanks for the tip Horse). These are going to cost me some serious stimulus money.
Hopefully the seller is unloading these because he knows something we don’t know, like maybe Barrett is getting ready to resume production of Fieldcraft rifles with new calibers!
However, the $50 million military contract Barrett was awarded a couple weeks ago suggests it may be a long time before Fieldcrafts come back, if ever.

I'm thinking about the 556. If it had the 21" barrel it would be a no brainer for me. If it stays around 2200 I may bid. Wonder what the round count is?
I spend all my money on loose women and trapping supplies.....The rest I just waste.

Considering what FCs have been selling for and considering that it’s 1-of-a-kind caliber and configuration, I’d be surprised it sells under $3,000

Copy that.

I fail to see the attraction for that kind of coin.
Agreed
Ping pong balls for the win. Once you've wrestled everything else in life is easy. Dan Gable I keep my circle small, I’d rather have 4 quarters than 100 pennies.
This rifle is one of Barrett's prototype model rifles. We do not have a round count on any of the Barrett rifles listed. They were taken to industry shows as well fired at events and used in testing.

Outpost Armory listed two more FC's. They both just ended. The 7,62x39 prototype brought$ 2385 for winning bid. The other one was the 22" threaded barrell (black /green) 6.5 CM that didn't get an opening bid ($2200)

If the 7.62x39 would have been a heavier threaded barrel, I'd have bid on it. As it was, I did not see it as a big practical improvement over my Ruger American Ranch. I'd like to have one of the proto mini-actions, but not sure I want to pay that much for one.
Just posted this in my thread about how Fieldcraft rifles are never coming back. Confirmed this morning by a Barrett rep. (I emailed them through the website yesterday.)

I think it’s pretty well common knowledge the SA 21” slick barrels are not the best balanced models. The LA 24” or the LE versions of 6.5 CM with 22 or 24” are well balanced however . I have no problem with the trigger (Timney) . I will agree the bolt strike does not make think wow this slicker ‘n sh it. But the good outweighs the bad easily to be. YMMV
