I always heard a can of red pop stirred into a bucket of cornflakes until it turned to dough and could be mashed into a ball on a treble. Never tried it, only carp I’ve caught have been on a worm, with an arrow, or in the throw net hunting bait.

Corn always worked best for me.

Use a rod holder, or set a rock on your pole, if bank fishin.

Best laughs I had fishin, was watchin some poor bastard's pole get yanked into the lake.

Don't know about carp but they sure work on trout. Might work on carp too. Corn really brings them in. A long time ago I fished with a guy who used to usually get a limit in the area lakes with corn. He would open a can of corn; empty it, punch a hole through the bottom of the can, run some mono through the hole, secure it with a big split shot inside the can, put the corn back in and cover the open end with a paper napkin or piece of newspaper and rubber band.. When we got to what he considered a good spot he'd lower the can over the side till it hit bottom, let it sit a few minutes minutes til the paper got soaked through, takes longer with newspaper, give the can a jerk and the corn all comes out. We'd bait up with a kernel or two and there was usually a lot of fast action. Check your local fishing regulations as to legality or not.

A small marshmellow up on the shank of the hook with a piece of nightcrawler threaded on below it works in lakes that have freshwater snails. We used to catch a lot of trout with this method in Diamond Lake Oregon.

I had carp trained at the lake house for a while. Slung several cups cheap dry dog food out at the same time every evening. When I wanted to hear a drag sing I drilled a hole through a piece of the dog food. Fished it very shallow unweighted with a cork.

Good fighters.

Using canned corn is bad for fish, they can't digest it. Trout will gorge on it but will wind up dying. Wouldn't care about carp though.

Corn works great for carp on a 10 or 12 hook. Drain water and use corn covering the entire hook. Put a piece of split shot about 10 inches above hook. Leave your bail open.
