Can’t see results if you don’t own an 1899 H, unless you enter false info in the poll.

Thanks Rory. You beat me to it. I should have added a line for "none". I really wanted a count but the Poll won't let you do that.

I currently own none.

I had a 303 H beautiful takedown for a while. It's hard to find something bad to say about those old H's

They just look right and feel right in your hands.

They don't make guns like that anymore...

I only have one. It is a takedown, but only came with a 410 barrel.

You can't. That's what Rick wanted to do, but the polling software wouldn't allow it.

Solid 1899H's are ahead or tied with the takedown 1899H for each cartridge at the moment - except for the Imp in 22HP, which wasn't available as solid frame.

Yeah, I'm surprised.

Yeah, I'm surprised.

With a relative small sample size, what we are seeing may be more a function of which ones collectors keep/buy for the safe, vs. send on down the road; might not be representative of actual produced ratio.

True. The thing that surprise me is I seem to run across takedowns 3 or 4 times as often as I run across the solid frames. Finding a pre-1910 1899H seems pretty darned hard, and they were only solid frames. Didn't seem to sell a lot until they added the takedown feature to them - at least that's what I thought.

I have 6 Hs and posted 3 (303 TD, solid frame 30-30 and 22 HP TD) on the poll. Still have a 303 TD and two 22 HP TDs that I couldn't post. My experience showed more TDs than solid frame Hs.

When you add them all up the TD's are 70% of the total.

What surprised me is how few 30-30's there are.

Here's my 99H TD in 25-35 DOM 1913 . Unfortunately, a prior owner many many years ago, cut down the stock and installed a recoil pad. The workmanship was poor so I had a new buttstock made from Texas Black Walnut to replace it. The bore and original bluing are outstanding. The rifle is factory original except for the stock. Too bad it was cut but I still ended up with a sweet rifle, - T.S.

Oh, takedown 303's and 25-35's overtook the solid frame 303's and 25-35's.

I wonder how many of the .25-35 TD's originally had an extra .30 caliber barrel with it? I think Loggah's is the only one I know of.

Still surprised at how few 30-30's there are.

I know of two other sets with second barrel. Mine is missing the second barrel but letters as 303/25-35. A friend has one with both barrels 303/25-35 which also letters.

Thanks Bill. I need to look through some log sheet for others. The two barrel sets don't seem to be too common.

There are a lot more 25-35 TDs than I would have guessed.

Also....

For the record, I own (2) 1899H rifles in 22HP. But I only voted once.

Please subtract one from the 30-30 list .

I did not see the “ under 230,000 “ request .

I have a 99 H , not 1899 . Sorry for the ignorance .
