Dude was probably way overloaded with fentanyl or God knows what else. The autopsy will tell us. Seems like that's the usual thing now. People so loaded on drugs that they pull a suicide move like that on a cop. So it's either a pandemic of drug overdoses, a pandemic of aggravated stupidity, or a combination of both.

In my opinion that officer was very professional. His instructions were clear and he spoke plainly. No cursing or foul language. Did not insult the guy. Waited as long as possible for the guy to comply then took the action he thought was appropriate. Like someone said no magazine dump. He remained alert to the situation around him.

He did that wrong according to the new normal....he was supposed to make sure the guy wasn't a minor, what his history was, talk to him and find out what his intentions were, then decide if he should shoot.
