Both my .223 and 22-250 shoot this bullet very well. Question is which would you prefer in this case? I thought maybe the lower velocity of the .223 might be better with this bullet.

Either will work just fine. Load em up and kill critters.

IF IF IF you can find any, score some 64g Winchesters.
22/250 with the 63g sierra is a killer, I used IMR 4350, max load for the rifle, PMC brass if you can find any as it takes a lot of pressure, same as Laupa. Deer will flop.
I shot does with 55g Hornady sp with the cannalure with an over book max of Benchmark with cci 450 primer at 3450, tiny groups, Does and hogs flopped...still do!

A friend and his son killed 5 deer last season with 63 gr SMP out of an 18" AR.

An old Unc in laws 22-250 wouldn't spin the 64gr Nosler bonded, i loaded him some 63gr SMP's, he's a cow farmer and has been killing deer and the occasional pig without complaint for near 5 years now.

Shot my first whitetail with the 63 gr SMP with a .22-250 WBY Varmintmaster. Worked perfectly. No exit, pulped lungs. Would probably work well in a .223, too.
We used that bullet loaded to nearly 3700 fps from a 27" 40XB .220 Swift on woodchucks and crows to 400 yds plus. Worked fine there, too. Less wind drift vs then available 55s. An underrated bullet, for sure. About as accurate as anything else Sierra makes in .224".
