I don't buy the media spin that this is a Trump v No Trump thing. I think the D/media are spinning it that way to keep R==Trump in the public eye.
I think she hurt herself by focusing on Trump, "the lie" and Trump. R's in general haven't figured out what direction to go for 2022/2024 elections. But I think they have decided that any R leadership who can't say a sentence without the name Trump in it, good or bad, isn't what they want speaking right now.
R leadership may decide soon, one way or another if they want to hitch the 2022 wagon to Trump and his message, or just to the message Trump pushed for 4+ years, but not the name.
As for Cheney, she's toast in WY.
