Reading a small article in th May/June Successful Hunter on silencers for ATV's. They mention the Benz Silent Rider and the ATV Stealth Exhaust. While the article describes them both as being excellent. They didn't actually do a compairson. The Benz Silent Rider was on a Honda Rubicon, and the ATV Stealth was on a Kawasake 650. Was wondering if anyone here has any experiance with either, and or know of any compairsns done. Was thinking of putting one on my Polaris 500 Sportsman.

Phil,

Do they work on 2 cycle engines or just 4? I've got an old '86 Polaris 250
Trail Boss that I'd like to put one on but it's a 2 cycle engine.

Jeff, the article states that both are complete kits that will fit on virtually any 4-stroke ATV. It doesn't mention 2-stroke engines, but doe's mention that both virtually have no back pressure. I wouldn't think you'd want any extra back pressure with a 2-stroke, but then again their both certified with USDA approved spark arrestors, which couldn't hurt in fire prone areas. So I cant really answer your question, but here are their links.

Benz Silent Rider $149 complete

ATV Stealth Exhaust $199, guard is I believe $35 extra!
Believe it's a little larger also.

Phil I don't know any thing about the Benz. A buddy of mine got a Stelth and all I can say is that it was a PITA to put on and did not work nearly as well as advertised in noise reduction. IMO it sure wasn't worth the money he spent or the trouble he had puting it on.

Good point. I reckin' maple syrup works better on 4 strokes, the Karo is best on 2 strokes.
