That’s a good point. I never considered the parallels to our own times before but they’re are definitely some similarities in how they begged for a king and wound up with Saul.


There is a lot of repetition of actions and histories in the Bible, so much in fact, often it's confusing as to which time in history HE is referring to.

That may have led to the saying that there is nothing new under the sun.
