I remember being able to to buy those at Wally world for $9/box. I've been scrounging small pistol primers from everybody I know and a friend gave me some CCI. They were marked .96 cents!!

Imagine how many boxes would sell at that price today.

I'd have to assume that box was from the mid to late '80s, so adjusted for inflation, that's roughly $27 today....so basically, a little more than what .30-06 was selling for before the November election panic.

HOB : House of Bargains in Apache Flats, just outside of Jeff City. I worked there in late 80’s behind the gun counter. My boss at the time shot in the Bianchi Cup. They sold a lot of guns out of h to hat place.

Sounds about right. I remember those days vaguely. I was still a kid. I spent a lot time up north with my grandparents during the summer shooting all of my grandpa’s 22 lr ammo up and we’d go to the gas station/hardware store and he’d buy me brick of Winchester Wildcats for somewhere around $12.

I was gifted these from a relative's estate. Can't bring myself to shoot them though.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

I have Walmart clearance price 30-06 federal premium 165 fr boat tails priced at $3.96 thank goodness they had 20 of em. That was in the 90's Even bought Winchester supreme 180 gr accubonds for 10.99. Best ever was remington 22 hornet 45 gr jhp. 50 round boxes. Bought 30 boxes at $6,95 a box been a few years ago but true story. I've been very lucky over the years. But the old blue box federal from Walmart when it was 9.99 a box for 243 308 06 and 270 and 7mag and 300 win mag were $11.99 a box I spent many a commission check buying that stuff up. GLAD I DID NOW

I saw some Hornady SPSX in 223 today... real old stock... from an estate sale...
boxes were marked $3.39 from the store they were originally bought from...
box could I do a lot of shooting with those kind of prices....I am sure a rebarrel was $75 to $90 or so in those days...
