One of the sharpest “cheap” knifes I’ve ever bought.
Works great as a kitchen knife or hunting knife. And you wouldn’t shed a tear if you lost one.

Does it have a single bevel or does it have a secondary bevel also right up near the edge?

Are you talking about the so-called "Scandinavian grind"? Definitely NOT "easy to sharpen", as is so often touted. And a fad I had hoped would have passed by now, yet it hangs on amongst "bushcrafters". :P

Not sure if it's the same. I do know that the zero bevel grind is popular in Europe.

I'm curious as well
I'm aware of scandi/ sabre grind, flat grind, chisel grind,
hollow grind, and convex grind
I know what those are

The "Scandinavian grind" (sloyd knife) is all the rage among "bushcrafters", and has been for a while now. Man-bunned, ear-gauged, ironically-bearded, skinny-jeans-clad, lumbersexual hipsters, who, at age 30, are excited at buying their very first knife... and it has to be a "Scandi grind" because that's what everybody on Youtube says is the bestest. Whatever kind of knife you get, it's gotta be good at batoning.. that is, of course, the main purpose of any knife...

ugh.

Personally, I HATE "Scandinavian grind" knives. Useless things to me. Ridiculous to try to sharpen. Thick blades that aren't great for slicing... or great for anything, really. "oh, but they're good for carving!".... I can carve just fine with a normal knife.

The Cold Steel "Roach Belly" has a hollow ground blade. Not a really deep hollow, just slight.

Another one to try for about the same price is the Cold Steel Pendleton Lite Hunter. A nice handle and blade shape. Also just slightly hollow ground.

If you want a "fighting knife", then maybe something like this:

I've done it and the first thing you feel is the edge of your hand hitting the tire. Amazing how this cuts. The sheath is clipped inside the pocket and the handle is grabbed and pulled to deploy the knife, leaving the sheath in the pocket.

I think this is the model that was on our web site that gave Facebook the shivers a few years ago and prevented us from advertising on their site. cool

That is a badass blade. If you don't mind me asking what does one cost?

Roach Belly, not Scandi. Marttiini is, from Finland, cheap, light, and sharp. And the fat-assed General.

That doesn't look like a General. Blades too short. Sure it's not a 119 ?

If I'm dressed, this is what I'll be doing any stabby-cutty stuff with. I have no complaints with it.[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]
