Great video and a fine round though my use of it was in a couple of Charter arms Bulldogs and 44 magnum revolvers. I moved to the 45 LC for no better reason than brass is easier to get.
I’ve got so much .44spcl ammo and brass and nothing to shoot it in that I’ve been thinking about getting a Charter Arms Bulldog for a boat/tent gun. I’ll have one of the kids throw it in their pocket when they go hiking.
I’ve always had an affinity for the .44 special, it’s no slouch.
PS....nice shooting irons gentlemen. 👍

I’m a bit ashamed to admit that I have three Bulldog Forty-Fours. One modern style DAO, one actual old one, and one new one that’s a copy of the old one, called their Classic Model. I’m a bit of a fan of the model.
That last shot was perfect. Lad pulled the trigger, no cartridge in the chamber, and the revolver didn't even move a bit. Good job teaching 'em not to flinch.
Wish I would have had a dad like you Jim. Care to adopt a boomer? (I have lots of ammo.)
Will you pay for the women and beer?

TRH, Nothing to be ashamed of if you ask me. The Bulldog is a reasonably priced revolver that packs a hell of a punch. It’s not as refined as some other revolvers but for the niche it fills it’s about perfect.
With birdshot it makes a fine halibut tamer, with a cast bullet or even a lighter HP it will tame 2 and 4 legged critters.

I didn't mean there was anything wrong with the gun. I meant having three.
I sort of collect Colt SAA's, mostly first generations, more to enjoy than shoot. But a few years back I had a chance to buy a second generation ( 1964) SAA in 44 Special that came from Michigans UP. Only Colt I shoot. It looks like it was used as there shows some holster ware, I'm sure it was someones backup gun for deer and bear up there. I've hauled it into the deer woods a number of times hoping for just the right shot, had not happened yet, but it will I hope.
A member here very very generously sent me some primed brass.
So, a 250 grain RN bullet over 5.2 grains of Unique.
Kids get to shoot all they want.
Gotta admit Mr Conrad, that's a fine thing to do there.

The minute I held a Ruger new model flattop in 44 spcl I knew I'd have to get back into Ruger SA's. Mines a 4 5/8" barreled flattop with the black plastic checkered grips and yes it shoots fine. Mb
