I appreciate the point, but I can't make the math come out. If I take the gang-related homicides away from the total homicides, I get 2,112. I call the 1,280 justified as still being homicides, and take tat away, that leaves 832. If I then add in the 960 accidentals, I get 1,792 rather than 1,712. I might be doing something wrong, but I like to show things like this to the gun grabbers, and they are very good at finding discrepancies.
