As of when? The gun free school zone act of 1990 prohibits firearms on school grounds and GCA '68 prohibits sale of ammunition to anyone under 18.

I bought my own smokes from the machines in front of the gas station or in the bar in town.

What did you do ? I had a few close calls with the law but never went to jail.
