in an all but empty parking lot ??

Went to Lowes 8:15pm tonight old hag with 6 year old boy pulls right up beside me driving a 25 year old broken down sqeeking rusted-out dodge dakota truck . I pull forward shaking my head - she says something wrong - answer - yes there's one hundred parking spaces you don't have to park two feet from me . She looks at her phone and walks on .

Couple weeks ago went to Town & Country grocery store 6:55am [not open yet] - parking lot empty - parked out in the middle - same thing - guy drives a rag-bomb small jap car and parks right up against my truck . So close he can't get out - I say hold-on and pull to another parking spot - he's on the phone and says something like oh I parked by some old grouch .

This has happened to me for years --mouth-breathers the world is full of them .

Happens to me all the time as well. I can't understand the mentality of some people.

Once, I was meeting a bunch of family members at a restaurant. I purposely parked at the very back of the large lot, away from everyone else. Plenty of open parking spaces in that area. I watched as a cousin's wife pulled up and parked right next to me. She then forcefully swung her door open - right into my door - and dented the living f*ck out of it. She just looked at me and said: "Oh, I'm sorry, do you want me to pay for it?" Well, Hell yes, you're paying for it. I had expressly parked away from the other cars to avoid just such an eventuality.

Had an '81 Caprice years ago. Came with a POS 5.7 diesel. Talk about crap...anyway, I dropped a 350 Olds in it when the injector pump went south the third time. Not too long afterward, the TH350 ate shit and the SOB lost reverse. I figured out eventually that it was going into reverse, but drive never would disengage, even in park, so when I put it in reverse it would move neither forward nor backward. I was going to college at the time and would pick parking places so that I never NEEDED reverse---at least anytime I had the choice.

One afternoon I had to go out to the Range Animal Science Center to do some stuff and no one was parked in the student parking lot so I took no precautions. Went in and did my thing, came out an hour later and sure as shit some fuckwad had parked nose-to-nose with my car even though the entire parking lot was empty.

People are just dicks.

This is exactly why we can't have anything nice. I'd rather walk a mile than get a "door ding"!

That's why you park diagonally across two spaces.

Yep. I remember one guy parked his new Porsche way out in a parking lot at a shopping center -- at least 25 spaces away from everybody-- and some car parks so close to him that his new Porsche was dinged. When the Porsche guy got back to his car and saw it he took a hatchet out of his car and planted it in the other guy's car and left it there. A long time ago and a place far away.

You're likely to get keyed if you do that now-a-days.

Nobody wants to park next my Uncle Creepy tree sap covered crown vics.

Sheep need the security (and the occasional jump-start 😂) that the flock provides. Sheepdogs don’t want to mingle with the sheep and prefer the comfort of their own company.

That’s the only explanation that I can come up with. It also explains the attraction of cul-de-sacs, condos for anyone under 62 and home owners associations. 😉

Your mistake was in getting a truck that looked like mine.

Years ago when i smoked and coughed up oysters, wife and i would come out of a resturant and have a car pulled so close by i would almost have to enter to drive from the passenger side. They OTOH, would have plenty of room on their drivers side.

Heave an oyster on the center of the drivers windshield. If real real close heave another on their door handle.

Nothing like adding some ambience to their drive home from a nice meal.
