Hardway,
I had the same issues with the 55gr TTSX until I seated it to a COAL of 2.250" and then 27.4gr CFE223 sealed the deal. It is accurate in my 1:9" and 1:8" twist rifles. I'm using CCI-400 primers and LC brass.

Ed Good info to tag.

Not to hi jack this thread but I've wanted to try this bullet (TTSX/55 gr.) as well in a Kimber Montana so I consulted the Barnes load data from their website, they indicate a coal of 2.180". I loaded up a few at 2.185" and stopped there as I thought that sure seems like a deep bullet seating even considering the preferred jump for this bullet. Haven't had a chance yet to get to the range the past few days as the rain changed my plans.

Try jumping the bullet .050 from the lands. Benchmark, hot load with a 450 primer should work.
25-26g of H335 with a cci 400 also.

I’d play with the seating depth. mono bullets like a lot of “jump”. First and foremost with Barnes. Powder choice is a REAL distant 3rd to Bullet choice then seating depth. The 55 gr TTSX will stabilize in a 1 in 9. This again.

Kimber Montana .223, Barnes 55gr, TAC 24.5 gr, CCI 450, C.O.A.L 2.185". 10 shot avg at 2968fps. Accuracy was underwhelming for three shot groups (+-) 1.25" at 100 yards. Going to up my powder charge .5gr and see if I can get better results.

Go straight to Benchmark!
Use those same CCI 450's. Go until you see pressure, or groups clearly deteriorating up way high.
Stop wasting your time and money screwing around with CFE.
50 thousandths off the lands has worked for me in the past with copper bullets .
If you can't get good results on your 1st work up with Benchmark, cut your losses and change bullet types.
