I have two Kimber's.
First one I have had 13 or 14 years and have close to 7k rounds through it, no problems at all. It's a steel 5 inch.
Second one is a 4 inch lightweight commander type that has 2-3K rounds thought it and no problems with it either.
I use Wilson Combat or CMC mags.

. . . And FWIW--I don't love the TEXAS model in the original post. It's too much. Get rid of the flag at the front and the lone star at the back; get rid of the Kimber logo (it's distracting), center the word TEXAS on the left side of the slide and move the outline of the state to the other side. Do all that, and I think you'd be onto something. Remember this pistol was designed for hard core Texans like Dr. Jaguar. I'm waiting for his opinion.
