Not sure if this has been posted here already, but the March April Issue of Sports Afield is an excellent one. With some very good republication of older stories the editor wove in two pieces by MuleDeer that hit the mark squarely. The column on the 1903 sporter is a good read and makes me really wish I had my Springfield back.

But the feature "Old Hunting Trails" is classic John all the way. A good bit of trail side description of some of the better parts of the hunt that may or may not include the animals we chase into the great places. Makes me really want to return to MT with a good pair of hiking boots to get off the path and see some more spots "......other hunters, known and unknown have left their tracks"

And if you like archery the reprint of the 1958 "The Sporting Way" is a gem in its own right.

Thanks to Sports Afield for keeping the tradition of good writing going.

I used to only shoot shotguns and rimfires, then I made the mistake of getting a subscription to handloader.......

Sports Afield is a class act all the way around. The quality of writing, photography, even the paper it's printed on, as well as the integration with writers of years gone by, make it my favorite magazine to find in the mailbox.

That was a good issue, I usually grab a couple issues a year off the rack. I watched most of the episodes associated with the article of “The Best Little Aoudad Hunt in Texas” featured in the “Wildcraft” series on Amazon Prime.
Great magazine.
