Couldn't remember if I'd had that before, picked up a handle of it to try too.

I'm surprised how many of my drinking buddies hate gin.

"It's like drinking a pine tree"

"I know! Isn't it awesome?"

Yeah, , that's a normal first impression for some.

But, it did seem to work on hot days.

Complain about drinking a pine tree in gin while swilling a DIPA that tastes like cat piss smells. It's weird.

I can still remember the first time I ever had one. Was 19, working in Jellystone. The trail crew guys were cool as hell, and we'd hang out in the bar and they'd buy my drinks for me. I didn't pick what, just paid and they got me one of whatever they were drinking. I have been a fan ever since.

Yeah the fancy tonic water absolutely makes a better drink. Had it in Canadia 7-8 years ago, didn't know there was anything besides Schweppes/Canada Dry. . But I'm too cheap a bastard to get it very often.

Yes its by far the best tasting gin 104 proof its not for the weak of heart !

My folks were not big drinkers. Kept a few bottles in the cupboard over the fridge, stuff that was around for after Christmas and Turkeyday dinner. Usually partial bottles of Kahlua, Beam, some sort of vodka, cheap (Cutty Sark) scotch , that kind of thing.

in order to avoid getting caught, and watering down the scotch and bourbon bottles, I tried the gin one day after school. Beefeater or Gordon's I think. Mixed 50/50 with OJ, I didn't find it too objectionable!

I'm speechless.

Was in an establishment in Yuma couple weeks ago, asked the server what they had for gin, he rattled it off. I specified the gin, and asked for a G&T.


He brought me a gin and iced tea.

Lord that was bad.

G&T seems to go really well in hot weather.

Amazzoni is really good if you can find it.

Tanqueray is our house gin here, sometimes a bottle of Bombay Sapphire. I often get a bottle of Plymouth gin, navy strength. Hendrix is a little too much juniper for me. I always thought Beefeaters and Gordons had a paint thinner kind of quality to them.

Years ago, when I was in the Philippines, we used to drink Ginebra San Miguel, I think to show how tough we were. It was about a quarter for a one-liter bottle.

I haven't imbibed in many a year and that made me think.........................

Of course, the snowbirds have flown north, so the establishments are less crowded usually,

I was given a bottle of Costco Extra Dry London Gin. Petty tasty stuff

I think it’s excellent!

Heard it was a really neat place, figured I'd scout for a summer home down there.

Too crowded now.

Try Ajo instead.
