That many people are convinced that their way of doing something is the best way of doing that something for everyone, everywhere, regardless of the actual local circumstances that might argue for different approaches.

That most people are more competent shooters on-line than they probably are in person, or at least that has been my experience on public and private ranges over the past 40+ years.

That fewer people value the fit of a stock, even though a stock is the interface between the shooter and every long gun that gets fired.

That I was wrong when I opined that new Chinese NORINCO SKS rifles that were selling for under $100 were going to be the truck gun of choice for country folks everywhere after the mid-90's.

That 6.5mm was never going to be a popular bore diameter cartridge choice in the U.S., but then along came the 6.5 Creedmoor.

That John Barsness is the Jack O'Connor of his generation and graciously shares his knowledge and experience on this site, even if he isn't always right.

Once someone does all it takes to make it to ignore, it's best to leave them there.

That everyone here is definitely smarter than I am, about everything, always. And that if you dont argue with all the old farts on here and only play in the classifieds you have to be a complete waste of space scumbag. Oh, and all black people are bad and all white people are perfect model citizens.

I've learned that use of hyperbole is a poor choice when trying to express one's thoughts.

Actually, I learned that elsewhere but seen it demonstrated here time after time.

That the Campfire resembles hunmanity.
We have it all, from brains to [bleep],

Why my 308 and 300 Win are so dam hard to zero.

How a bunch of guys bitch, fight, and act like stupid siblings,
until some one is really down. They they start giving stuff, cash, prayers, to help someone.

How so many good guys set themselves up to be used by a Con who
uses God in his schtik. And were willing to fight for him.

An amazing bunch of farming knowledge I will probably never
use because it's geographically unique. Stuff a Pa boy just can't imagine.

Similar to above and in line with 260, differences in hunting.
And figuring out how we hunt in so many different scenarios.
(Then watching the fights, where in reality the antagonist has no idea what he is talking about. He might be right, in his little world. But here, he aint.)

That ltppowel doesn't like big words.
Even though I believe he is intelligent, astute and can contextualize them.

Also about the 270 Anal Rainbow Rocket.
Always knew there was something "off" about it.
