For my Mom, Dad and Uncle.
I would have for my Aunt but the Covid crap shut all of it down and they did not allow for the grave site part of the service for her.

wfie's father died, he was an amateur fossil collector, had thousands of them
his wife at the time decided he would be buried with some of his favorite fossils.
I have no idea what that coffin weighed but me, 2 BIL's , my son who was 13 , and two teenage nephews were paul bearers and I was scared we were going to drop it. We were struggling.

9 times. Last was my Father August 25, 2020 10am. My oldest Daughter was opposite me.
2 Grandmothers, 2 Grandfathers, Father, 2 Uncles, Great Aunt, Friend.

I was a pall bearer when I was 15. My Senior Little League's coach had a little 6 year old blonde daughter. Mom was giving her a bath in the kitchen sink, she grabbed a light fixture and was electrocuted.
I will never forget, the little girl looked like an angel in that coffin. Coach Auld was so grief stricken he could barely stand up.

Way too many times for me.Proud moment for me was my 6 year old grandson at my dads funeral.He could barely reach the bottom of the coffin,but insisted he was gonna help carry his paw paw.I hope he'll carry me when my time comes.

Probably done it a about ten to a dozen times. All 4 grandparents and my father and an uncle plus some friends of the family and a couple as military honor guard..
You get out of life what you are willing to accept. If you ain't happy, do something about it!

An old gentleman who was always a more or less adopted uncle to me asked me about 8 months ago. Told me he didn’t have long left and he needed one more favor of me, said some day soon I’d get a call and his family would need me to carry him. I assured him I would even as much as I hate going to funerals he’d been too good to me over the years to let him down.
A month ago he passed, thankfully I got word when he got bad and was able to go sit and visit with him for a little while one last time while he still had his wits. But I waited and waited and never got the call, didn’t want to call and impose in case his blood family had made other plans. Got to the service and had to smile, he was always a frugal old guy and he’d decided last minute to be cremated, I figured he saw the price difference and changed his mind. As much as I hated the thought I still feel honored that he asked and I was able to accept, for both of our sake.

Just carried a friend recently to his grave. A BDQ Nam Ranger, tough little warrior! Had a hand hewn casket made from the timber on his land. Heaviest casket I've ever carried!
