We made halibut tacos from the fish we caught a few weeks ago in Ketchikan. Grilled the fish, cabbage, avocado, onions and a nice sauce I came up with. KILLER.

Committed. It's pretty early, no?

It is. Saving time for when it's time to actually scout, I'll be ready.

Roads, general notes, habitat transitions, big glass glassing points, small glass glassing points, access and washouts and strategy, etc. All the usual stuff. It's a new to me unit...

They sell some fish tacos over west.

One of the best things I ever ate.

Grilled is way better than fried.

It must be a taco time of year, I made them last night as well. I had about 3 pounds of elk round steak left in the freezer and figured it would make a good starting point for tacos. Turns out, tacos make for a great way to introduce people to game meat. My niece and her boyfriend have been living with us since the Fake Flu and last night, they declared the grilled elk in the tacos to be amazing. While I still can't get them to hunt on their own, after this and the mulie backstrap, they now support hunting without reservation. Pretty good transformation for two left leaning kids from urban areas.

Nice Ed,

Nathan is a chef & will be making grilled fish tacos & fresh mango salsa, some time this week.

Oh, & apparently, vinegar based 'slaw too !

He got pickled red onions going & in the fridge, last night.

Give this old phug a rest from cookin duties.

Mango salsa is the bomb. I think I ever had was on St Kitts.

Made a quick fire since the day was so nice outside and BBQ some chicken thighs, drumsticks and a few bacon wrapped spicy hotdogs. Also some veggies in the foil. zucchini, yellow squash and onions with butter/beer to steam.
