My Ford F-350 diesel has a 26 gallon fuel tank. I think that is ridiculous and too small when hauling the ATV and pulling the trailer. Looking at a Titan replacement tank. Says direct change out to a 60 gallon tank. Anyone have experience with tank changes?

I have swapped the Titan tank in a F-350 and it went well except I pulled out the small wires to the sending unit. Be careful with that part. My Ram has a 39 gallon tank which is pretty good size, but I didn't choose to replace it with a Titan. I put a 90 gallon RDS in the bed of my truck and I have a bed extender that offsets the area it took up if I need extra capacity.

I really like the RDS and the all that extra capacity when I pull a trailer for long distances and the ability to refill my RV, wife's SUV, and our generator tanks. We get most of our diesel from the local Kroger a $1/gallon off the normal price.

JMHO, but you'd save a TON of money by simply obtaining 4-5 five-gallon diesel fuel jugs and carrying 'em with ya.. If you only have 26 gallons, you must have a SC short-box or similar... My CC, LB PSD has 48 gallons available in the tank..

Yea gotta remember, it takes horsepower to haul that extra fuel and there is always a fuel stop along they way with fresh clean fuel.

Just say'n,

This guy on FTE put the Titan in his ‘11 PSD, and a S&B? in his ‘17. He has a lot of good vids on his channel.

The Colonial pipeline has an issue seems once a year.

Extended range tank sounds like a great idea.

Not an issue in your part of the country but it was dicey here a few days.

Have an 85 gallon transfer tank/tool box in my pickup bed.

Mostly for tractors and equipment, but it's nice on a trip when you see the diesel prices along the interstate to pull over and fill up at the lower price you pay at home. smile

Putting 125 gallons of diesel in at one fill up can dent your wallet pretty good at prices today...

Towing 15K - 25K GCVW with a 26 gallon tank is a design failure by Ford.

Drive through the night in Canada, in winter, to understand the value of extry fuel!

Put the 50 gal Titan in my ‘12 F350. Easy swap but getting to the top of the tank was a bit tough. Probably the best upgrade I did to my truck. 700+ miles per tank now.

On an elk hunting trip to Wyoming I stopped at the Titan facility in Idaho Falls and picked up the 55 gallon tank for my 2007 Ram 3500. Installed it myself and love it.

Research shows that the belly pan under the fuel tank has to be left off. Wonder if that is any issue on the rougher roads we go on?

My Titan tank had an optional belly/skid plate you could put on and helped protect it.

I had an ATTA 85 installed in the bed of my F250 a few years ago due to the idiotic small tank. They are down near the Stockyards in FTW. Paid about $1800 installed. It is plumbed into my fuel tank and has a sensor that fills the tank when it gets to 1/4 tank or a manual switch you flip. Also has a fuel pump for my tractors or the wife’s car. Been well worth it.

As does mine. It’s plastic just like the stock skid plate from ford.

Transfer Flow in Oroville Ca. Make smog legal large fuel tanks for some trucks. But they are not cheap.
