156 7/8ths gross 155 net 215 pds dressed. 4yrs old 10 pt. Still hunting in fresh tracking snow, T32MD Maine outta the Owls Nest camp on the Parent Rd. Had ta go back to camp wake up my 2 had too much to drink the night before buds to come help me get him to a road. Was about 1.25 miles in the woods down around Titcomb brook area where I shot him. Was on his track for about 3/4ths of a mile over the course of 90 minutes. Knew he was close at the end he had just gone through some chest high pines and a small slope going down into a cedar flat and snow was still falling off the boughs. Got gun up looking thru scope other eye open for full vision. I cleared those little pines in a very slow shuffle step walking and looking. He was standing behind a old white 2 to 3 ft thick cedar checking his backtrail to see what hounding him with just his upper neck and head exposed. Shot him thru the neck right their at around 20 25 yds. Thatβs a stud.

My Rico and Cookie buck from last year. Buried Rico the day before in the pouring rain remnants of a hurricane and had buried Cookie 32 days prior. It was a very rough month for me. The morning i took Rico to the vets was a really difficullt out of the blue decision I was not prepared for 1 bit. Liver and pancreatic cancer, same thing his mom sweet heart died of 2 yrs prior. She was 11 Rico just turned 9 Just wanted to be in the woods and do some thinking and greiving/ crying about my 2 dogs and how it all was tied together. Rico sandbagged his cancer for me and Cookies sake . Then 2 days after Cookie died and Rico,s role model was no longer around he started markedly going downhill. Both were rock star dogs in my life. Talk to em every night when I take Blackjack ( Rico,s dad) out to pee before bed. By far not my best buck ever... But one with alot of meaning associated with it to me. I made a thread last year on the oct 11 the day it all went down from walking in to area 30 in the morning dark to this truck pic. As it all went down.... Pics or it never happened......

I dont know what it is about Tennessee deer. Over the years since fall of 92 I have had 7 or 8 charge me. This is the only other one I ever shot charging got within 15 17 yards Full head of steam coming in Amazing you came out of that encounter unscathed. You are one lucky dude you had your rifle when that sumbitch charged you right in your driveway.

I understand , everyone has a story , A lot of the memories reflect your frame of mind and things that were going on in your life . I have the first deer my son shot when he was 12 , scagly 8 point probably didn't even score 100 points but its mounted on the wall .

I been meaning to buy a euro skull mount for the Cookie and Rico Rack. Just one of those simple kits at wally world or academy. Not those dumb looking metal robo looking ones eitherπ₯΄ Oct 11 will be a good day to do it and put it on the wall down here in the man cave I'm thinking. π

OK try this one on for size. I've posted this before and EVERYONE has a " Big snake" story...but I have pictures...how about an Eastern Diamondback that went 7'3" and had a 19" girth? My best pard and I got it right after high school, a loooong time ago in a galaxy far far away ... For point of reference my pard was 6 feet tall and weighed in just under #200

You like weird? This is an elk I shot about 15 years ago. It looks like he'd been butting heads with a Peterbilt on the freeway. I've never mounted them because I've never really figured out how to do it so they'd look good. In the top pic, you can see that his skull is misshapen.

I hunted rattlers for their skins way back, killed hundreds, won't kill one now unless it's a direct threat. Found a little one on the job site a couple months ago, put it in a bucket and relocated it in the desert. Kent

Same here Kent, they get a pass now, though I am looking for one big Western Diamondback to keep his hide for myself....I look every time I'm in Texas...nothing yet.
