Received in a NOE brand 44 cal Keith style 280gr SWC, PB mold. Cast up a Lee 10 lb pot full. Dripped at 280gr as requested when the mold was ordered. BHN 10.5. Worked up a load of 1100 fps for my Ruger 7 1/2" revolver. Very satisfying accuracy. Recoil from the Ruger was very manageable. No banged fingers. Powder coated , & sized at .430. Cast , coated & loaded . No fuss, no muss, & a clean shinny Bbl. after shooting. love those PC bullets.
Nice looking bullets. Do you think they expand at all at that hardness at 1100 fps. I've been working on a load with Lee 310g at about 1050. I'm not sure how hard my alloy is but it's 4 pounds ww to 1 pound monotype. I'm saving up milk jugs to see how they do if I can catch one.
I lined up 5, 1 gal milk jugs at 70 yds. My 280gr bullet at 1100 fps penetrated all 5 jugs. Since my bullets are a BHN 10.5 they may expand a little. But, being such a flat nose, expansion is not really necessary. Also, these bullets are so heavy they carry "considerable momentum", which translates into "considerable penetration". A win, win as I see it. Reasonable recoil , with big time power.
