That’s pretty much what the normal price was for HP Defense Ammo before the Scamdemic.
So yep, that’s a decent price for extremely hard to find Defense Rounds.

Tempted to grab a can but I still have 2,000 of range ammo and 1,000 hollow point.

Most do not want 1000 jhp loads and prefer smaller quantity. If one can not order smaller quantity at reasonable cost this would be good if several guys took up collection and split what arrives.
The "current market" doesn't have to be the new norm if people stopped paying these retarded prices.
This is like saying food is too expensive so stop going to the grocery store until prices aren't retarded. If someone is out of ammo and they want quality rounds, they pay the best price the current market provides. For people like myself, who has like 3,000 rounds of 9mm, I can wait and see what prices do. But I'm not going to get angry that prices are high because people who need ammo pay the current prices.

I shoot HST’s as defense Ammo but would buy this in a second if I needed it.
I’ve carried Gold Dot HP in my guns I carry for SD for years. Good stuff. Especially the 9mm and .357 Sig.
I’ve never tried the HST, but from what I’ve read, it’s very highly rated too.

I’ve carried GD, I like the HST now but either would kill a [bleep] deder than Roy Clark.
LOL. Yep! I’ve killed quite a few hogs at the Ranch with the Gold Dot .357 Sig loading.

I've always heard good things about consistent expansion from GD. . Have you kept up on the latest developments? As an instructor, do you have a recommendation for round count to prove reliability for a students chosen CCW?
Gold Dot, HST and Ranger SXT are the top of the heap in my opinion. Although I favor GD and purchase them for my department, I wouldn't have a problem with the others.

Thanks for the recommendation. It doesn't sound like that's changed since I last looked into it. That speaks well for the GDs.

It sounds like you are confident in the history of the Gold Dot.
It sounds like a good time to split a thousand with a purchase for anyone ready to buy.
I was very interested, but I never have seen any kind of Gold Dot ammo packed in an ammo can like that. They all have been packaged in 50 round boxes. So, I am skeptical, especially at that price.

First thing I thought when I saw that too. Never seen any Factory Speer Ammo packaged like that.

Eight five stars reviews on that page and 86 on Ammoseek.
"Top-notch customer service and extremely fast shipping

I had never heard of Velocity Ammunition Sales, but they had an insanely good price on a can of Federal HST, so I decided to risk it. I was pleasantly surprised. First, their customer service is top-notch. I had reservations about the ammunition because I had never seen this type of ammo (Federal HST) sold in this type of packaging (metal ammo can). However, a quick email to customer service alleviated my worries- with an hour of sending my email, they informed me this was over production from a law enforcement contract. Second, shipping was also extremely fast- I checked the reviews on AmmoSeek prior to submitting my order, and I almost thought that these reviews were fake given that every one seems to mention how fast the shipping was. I now see why everyone mentions the shipping speed- it truly is industry-leading. The same day I placed the order, the ammunition shipped and arrived within 3 days. Very impressed with Velocity Ammunition Sales and will order form them again."
Next time I'll just keep this kind of info to myself.
Why because one person was cranky? Keep the info coming. Thanks.

I don't feel cranky and I meant no disrespect. It just tripped my "too good to be totally legit" meter. I could be wrong. Carry on.
Wasn’t talking about you brother 👍

Someone is buying it. Down from 45 cans in stock when I posted it to 31 cans right now.
I don't own a .40 S&W any more, but those 165gr GD's are a deal at $.45 a round. I couldn't tell you the last time I saw .40 S&W ammo on a store shelf.
I and my brother appreciate the heads up. I checked the site last night and found Fiocchi .410 2.5 in. ammo for $17.00 per box. I texted him late and he got back to me this morning that he bought all they had.
You can't hardly find any kind of .410 ammo these days. This price is comparable to pre-crazy prices. Also, their policy of free shipping for purchases over $100.00 regardless of amount is a good deal.

I find the complete web address of the page interesting. It reads in part "copy-of-9mm-speer-gold-dot-le-124-gr-p-jhp" . COPY!!?? WTF
Ammo updates are good for those who need ammo. Especially cats that are not able to buy at major retail outlets.
Help is help. And help is appreciated.
You don't see the Liberal Socialist Democrat sockpuppets on here trying to help out fellow hunters and shooters on here.
Cause they dont hunt or shoot and offer nothing of value to the site at all.
Except hits and veiw thru controversy which equal benjamins for Bin..........

My 9 carbine loves 124 GDHPs and I get nearly 1400 fps out of a 16" barrel. That's very decent for a .35 caliber projectile with a bonded core that expands as well as GDHPs do at 1100 fps.
What you think about, you do ... what you do, you become. In a nation where anything goes ... eventually, everything will. We're almost there.

FYI, you may want to do some testing to see if 1400 fps is too much of a good thing. I got 1282 fps from standard pressure 124 grain GDHPs out of my Ruger PC Carbine compared to 1125 fps out of a Sig P365XL. I shot rounds from each through 1 gallon water jugs just to test expansion, and the one fired from the P365XL got into the third jug while the one fired from the carbine expanded so rapidly that it never got past the second jug. (I re-ran the carbine test and got the same result again.)
Apologies for the thread drift.

I'm surprised that a few local buddies around here wouldn't go in together and split that deal. With all of the sky is falling blm videos posted and city folks scared to death, you'd think there would be a run on that.

That actually sounds pretty good. If the energy stays in the target, that's normally considered a good thing in self defense. The penetration through clothing, vitals and to the spine is about as good as a handgun caliber is capable of.
BTW, Thanks for publishing results here. This is one worthwhile thing the Saturday night crowd is responding with. Half can't make a constant sentence on subject.

That's the 357 mag gold standard velocity for all the old handgun stats. Ie. Sanow, etal. Makes sense for urban home defense IMHO.
Crappy Hamper, how many 9mms do you own? Post up a picture. Your copy and past firearms experience is not very impressive; best stay with smiting people with your kukri.
