I'll get beat up for this but I would be amazed if the ClassiC's hold a candle to the Elite's. I had two sets of 10x40 ClassiC's and felt they were about par (optically) with the old Pentax DCF-WP's. Sold them both and all of us are happy.....

I got the Last pair of 8X43 Elites in Fairbanks Store.
I also did notice the good deal on 8.5 HG Minox at 569.00.
I did for the daily double with a Black Diamond 3-season first light for 150 dollars at beaver sports. Life is great.

Now I can scrimp and save and buy a really great spotter from Doug at Cameraland. I may wait until after the shot show or keep entering his contest and hope that I win.

You can buy it separatly but I don't think it comes with it. At least neither pair of mine did.

Yeah, i didn't think so. saw 1 at Sport. Ware. Co Spgs. couple days ago, and it looked like the most portable makeshift spotting scope system of all, but cuts light transmission down as far as i could see in the store quite a bit. Aybody try the ocular addition in the field yet???

A big thanks to crow sniper for the phone numbers. I got the last pair of 10x43s at the Las Cruces, NM store. I also called around to see if there might be a few floating around that weren't display models but no luck. In fact, the only store that had a pair of 10x43s left was the Cour D'lene (sp?) store and they were displays, too.
Still a smoking deal. After rebate it'll come to around $450 with tax.
There were a few more stores that had the 8x43s if anyone is interested.

Okay, I am kind of a greenhorn when it comes to binoculars, but I am very interested in the Elites after reading this thread, and through having a couple of Elite scopes and being very pleased with them. Anyway, I see that Natchez lists (though temporarily out of stock) Elite 8x42 and 10x42 at prices lower than what you guys are posting 43s at. So, are these different binoculars, or are they the same but just described differently (42 vs. 43)? Someone please help clarify for me.

Thanks!

The one you're seeing on Natchez site is the Elite e2 which is the newer, cheaper version. I think they're a different animal all together...
