Kinda reminds me of the story.

Seems there was this guy that was always sitting in a lawn chair in the shade drinking beer while his wife mowed the yard. The old biddy that lived across the street would get incensed every time she looked out and saw this lady mowing and sweating while the guy just sat in the shade and watched her mow.

On a particularly hot summer morning the old biddy could take no more. She slammed the front door as she stormed out and marched across the street to confront this scoundrel. She marches up to him and says " Sir, I can't believe you can just sit here in the shade drinking beer while that lovely young lady is out there mowing the grass, while its hot as blue blases out. You ought to be hung".

The guy smiles takes a swig of his beer and slowly lifts up his shade and replies, " I am, and that's why she's mowing the yard".

ya!

Many of my hunts have also gone just as you describe Geno. I hunt with four good buddies and we put in for a group tag each year. We've only pulled tags six times in the past thirteen years, which is actually pretty good.
Sometimes the tags turn out to be for some less than prime deer areas and with Nevada's declining herds you're lucky to see a buck or even a doe on some days. I still wouldn't miss the opportunity to spend time out camping with the buds.

He came to me at the top of the mountain above camp. Like that deer in the other story, before putting on my pack after lunch I decided to glass before moving. Little sucker walked right up a little drainage with his buddy and stopped about 15 yard away.

Right about 5K'. I was working with a severely arthritic knee at the time. It was a fun climb down that sumbish. I made him into a suitcase after I gutted him. Tied his feet up with some paracord and carried him down that way, along with the 20lb day back and the pistol. Thank heavens for the yucca hiking stick in the other hand.

That's the top of the mountain in the center background a mile or so distant straight line. There's a creekbed to the right of that hill on the right of the pic I use to walk back in there. Old mine diggin's up there, washed out road helps some getting about 1/2 way up. Pic is from the year after I took that guy. Snowed that trip.

Sunset, javelina camp, 2012. A few folks may have left or not arrived yet. Seasons run from Jan until March depending on the tag drawn.

Usually a tent trailer between the two 5th wheels, and another camp or two 100 yards or so down the road at the next flat spot opening in the brush. I take the spot across the road near the UTV trailer.

I do like that picture Bob.

Would love to meet you and the boys someday.
And that little feller from the other pic!

So, who's seen anything at all like this? ALIENS???

I come out to go to work and find this pile of gravel near the wheel of the truck. Look closely, there's a gravel parking spot under the truck mixed in with those weeds there. Likely where the pebbles came from.

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

I'm guessing raccoons, which fed in the nectarine and apple trees there.

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

And there was another pile in front of the truck as I recall. And there's no kids in the area and the adults around there would have been too lazy to go to all that work:

In 1996 I hunted Grizz in South Central Alaska.
It was a fantastic experience and challenged everything I had.
We saw two giant bears that eluded us due to wind shift and loud crunchy snow conditions.
The following year my guide took his son out and killed one of them...just a freaking stud of an interior bear.
