Damn Jud , most years I can't draw that combo.... as a resident. Of course I get an over the counter deer tag, but a 700 unit antelope tag has eluded me 2 yrs in a row. frown

Just checked draw results, gonna be another combo hunt this year Brian. 👍😎

Congrats Jud.
Do you hunt private land or public?

Deer don’t grow as big down where I live and hunt as they do up north and mid west. But here’s a couple more unique ones. The first pic I killed in 2010 the second pic was in 2014, I was in the stand with my now ex when she killed it.

Mixture of both, the private they’ll let anyone on as they hate antelope. Usually wherever I find em. I’ll be huntin em the last week when I hunt deer so they’ll be pretty skittish. It’ll be the year of the antelope, got Wyoming and Montana tags in hand. Wyoming should be a damn good hunt. Took long enough to draw our tags.

Interesting, I have always found late season antelope the easiest to hunt, they do tend to group up though. The hardest part is finding bucks with two horns as they start shedding them.
No other hunters chasing them helps a lot.

Ya that can be a challenge. The biggest bucks I’ve killed and seen over there have been the last couple days. Seen a booner 6-8 years ago buck huntin, no goat tag of course, still haunts me.

I’ve done the opening week a couple times, never again, bout like opening weekend of western wa rifle elk, actually maybe worse!! Haha

Nice moose horns there Paul.

Do you put in for tags up there or over the counter?

And if I may inquire, do you know the weight of that little camping trailer? Tongue weight too if you keep that info handy in that brain of yours. No need to look them up. Wife and I need something small to use behind our RAV4, motels mostly don't like us bringing 3 dogs when we go to shows and races.

I heard them, had to turn on my external speaker because I forgot and wondered why I couldn't hear anything.

Were they out in that corn??

He was in that Locust tree just left of the flagpole.

They are starting to make a comeback. Won't be killing any for a couple years yet. Let them get established again.

It's my shop, all mechanical & custom exhaust.

Bought the business 10 years ago, once we became permanent residents.

Geno, stopped applying after 2014, they changed the regs & [bleep] over local hunters big time.

You have to buy a calf tag, which gets entered into an almost impossible "draw" system, for an adult tag, Choice of WMU & sex, also part of the system.

Can't condone selling 110,000 calf tags @ $50, to be used if you don't draw an adult, when the population is apparently at its lowest ever.

Of course, that 5.5 million $$ helps keep the DNR afloat, at the expense of the moose.

The odd part of the draw, alluded to earlier, is that they also set a minimum group size, to draw a guaranteed adult tag.

Come October, we get inundated with big groups from southern Ontario, most of whom have no knowledge of our areas, so they camp anywhere, make a huge mess & treat the locals with contempt.

Rant over !

wink

Camper is 18' & really light.

I can just pick up the front & drop it on the ball, when fully loaded.

We love that the bed pops out the front & you still have 18' of usable trailer.

Has dunny & shower internal, as well.

grin
