Valsdad; Thanks for the reply and update. We are also having a not super smoky day - I can actually see the mountain just across from us! The little rifle is a Tikka T1X in .22 LR. It's one of the very first short ones that found their way here into Canada and I grabbed it from a shop I've dealt with before out in Saskatchewan. I've admitted this before Geno, but I've got the .22 sickness pretty bad. This was some that went out to the range earlier this spring. Some in the photo are now gone too, turned into cash to fund the next one... you know.... The little Tikka is a gem though, really like it. It'll run with the Brno No 5 most days and sometimes beat it, which is sort of an accomplishment actually. I've got to head over to the kids' place now and help measure out some baseboard. All the best to you all., Dwayne

I don't believe I have ever come across bobcat kittens. I have seen 10-12 bobcats over the years but not kittens and never got a picture. Lions and lynx yes, but not bobcats. That would be pretty neat to see.

One of my favorite bobcat "events" was in Eastern AZ, 20 years ago, hunting on checkerboard BLM/school/private that a friend ran cattle on. Muzzleloader hunt. He was nice enough to let me stay in the "ranch house", an old 40 acre place he bought out and used for his hands when needed. I was sitting up on some rimrock, looking over a flat down below, eating lunch. Got done, packed up, walked up onto the mesa top, started to walk to next spot. Stopped to check something to make sure I hadn't left it at the lunch spot. All of a sudden I hear this growling coming from under some junipers where the cows had been laying. Damn bobcat in there, 20-30 feet away. Would have let me walk by no doubt, but didn't like it when I stopped. I asked him if he'd like a .50 cal ball and walked on out of there. I was after a deer and forgot to check the regs, as it turns out I should have shot him as the season was open. I don't think it was the same day, but another time I was sitting on the rimrock overlooking a little canyon and decided, for scheidts and giggles, to get the rattling bag out even though it was well before the rut. Just to see if anything popped its head up to look. Across the canyon a couple hundred yards, the ravens started bothering something. Out popped a coyote to look over the canyon. Too far for my old traditional caplock, and I didn't want to spook anything else that might be in the area, so I didn't even attempt a prayerful shot. I love seeing them things while out walking around.

That link takes me to a black box, is it on my end? Imgur has been doing odd things to me, and has deleted several of the pics that I have recently loaded. That pic does indeed seem to be gone from my account. I will load it again when I get home this evening.

Free hat I got somewhere. I didn't even know where Cal Poly was until I looked it up because someone asked me about it.

I don’t think that’s a Cal Poly hat, but a Cal Berkeley hat.

I think Tweety might have been more appropriate given the snow on the ground. Your hounds?

Not my hounds. A friend's in Idaho, but I must say: that is a beautiful COCK that I would love to chase around. I can't deny that. Somewhere I have a picture of a peacock I killed that was aggressive as hell and chased me around a friend's place. After shooting it, my buddy just shrugged and gave me a beer. My kind of person. Anyhoo......Wyoming buck that again, I never saw again.
