Braunshweiger man here, but I like it on white bread, onions & real Mayonaise. sometimes I add Provalone cheese. When I crave something "rotten", I like Limburger cheese with it...wow! lol

Off topic, but... I bought a jar of Limburger once out of curiosity. It had hardly any smell at all - more like cream cheese, actually. So either it was some kind of fake Limburger, or the rumor of its stench is overrated. (It was good on sandwiches, though.)

I'm trying to lose a little weight so I wrapped my braunsweiger in lettuce yesterday. Not bad, but not as good as rye bread.

I like both liverwurst and braunschweiger. I usually eat both on regular saltines, sometimes topped off with little spicy mustard on the side.

My Dad loved both, too.

This sounds good. Good on french or cuban bread too.

Never had it and not a fan of liver. That being said I wouldn’t mind trying it. Will have to find a quality deli.

OP's recipe is correct.

Also good on toast.

It's better than Liverwurst, IMO. I like it on rye crisp with a cold beer.

I season Braunshweiger heavily with Creole Seasoning and serve it with toast points. It's makes a fairly decent pate.

One of my earliest memories is going to the butcher’s with my mother, and he would cut off a slice of liver wurst and hand it over the counter.

I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Still eat it or Braunschweiger most every day, because I like it, and because I end up low on B12 if I don’t. Matter of fact, I think I’ll go cut a nice fat slice right now.

Braunshweiger sandwich after a good morning hike in the mountains for Muleys is the sheit. Don't know why buts it's the only time of year that I buy and eat it. But I love it!

During the summer I often put chilled slices of cucumber on it. Not so much for a taste difference, but to have something refreshing and with contrasting texture.

I like it on good crackers with cheese on the side with pickled herring and grapes.
