Sorry to hear your troubles with such a fine shotgun. I’ve had a few Perazzi’s. Never had any issues you describe. When I slowed down I was shooting a Caeser Guerini Still shoot with it some. Had other high end trap guns as well. Your experience hasn’t been the same as mine. To be fair in comparisons though the hulls I used and still have drums of are older production. Unlikely I’ll ever have need to gather/save additional hulls for reloading. Things do change and my knowledge may be dated. Wish you and the OP well going forward.

I used to like AAs back in the day before they went 2 piece. For the last 20 years my by far favorites are the Remington sts and nitro 27s. I've heard the gun clubs work well too so I just bought a case of 20 gauge gun clubs to shoot so I can use the hulls to make some light loads for the kids.
I bought some clay buster 3/4 ounce 20 gauge wads and some ww aa super handicap powder so know if just got to empty some hulls. I'm going to try a 3/4 once at about 1150fps and about 9000 psi and see if my 7 years old can handle shooting them from the mini mossburg pump.

I just loaded over 1k rounds using the Federal Top Gun hulls over the weekend. As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, they load extremely well through my loader (Hornady 366). These all have the gold low brass. I've also reloaded the hi-brass "Metro" hulls with good results... Make sure you use a wad designed for a straight walled case, I use the Claybuster CBSO that mimics the Federal SO wad.
My load: (this is a "book" load) Federal Top Gun hull Cheddite 209 18.5 grains Clay Dot SO wad 1oz #8's

I helped with the local high school trap team this year. Top Gun shells were provided. We had maybe 1 shell out of every 3 boxes that didn't go off, different guns, different gun manufacturers. Looking at the duds, each of them had barely a mark on the primer. Primer was sitting way too low, don't know if it was a problem with the primer or the hull. We were told that a school in a neighboring town also had the same problem with the same loads.

The same thing has been happening across the brands, presumably in a rush to meet market demand.
