Similar deal here regarding pressure.

It is not easy!

Nothing harder to kill in the woods than one of those with a bow. Might not be a drool worthy “trophy” pic but it was way more fulfilling than killing a big buck with a gun to me.

Compared to most on here, this is a decent deer but nothing exceptional. Funny thing is, it was in the top 100 P&Y killed all time in my state. Shot him on public ground that’s HEAVILY pressured.

Great buck & great point, public land over the counter tags makes bagging trophies pretty darn tough. But we go out , hunt hard and earn our trophies when they come along...
The reward is great memories and the satisfaction you did it your way.

Salmonella, Your pictures of family hunting and fishing are amazing your collection of mounts and how they are displayed is very impressive, there's a lot in your pictures to be proud of not just critters. Rio7

Thank you Rio.
Like you, I wish I had taken more photos when I was young.

It's not everyday one goes to the hardware store/lumber yard and gets to see the local wildlife bedded down in the insulation bunker:

Was getting on up near 100F about then, and that's on the North side of the wall, so that concrete was probably nice and cool for her..

I had a few pics when younger.
They were not the best composed.
And most of em reg turkey, rabbit, deer and geese.
I went on a cleaning frenzy a few yrs ago and threw em all away.

Bunch of antlers, nick nacks and other stuff (clutter).
Sold some mounts too.

W women crap everywhere in my house I don't have much room, and clutter just pisses me off.
So most of the stuff is gone. I kept one deer mount and a couple small skull caps.

Have some photos on PC, but dumped most of them, so have maybe 2 dozen tops.

Am the only hunter left in my fam so nobody gives a fugg but me. So am cool w the majority saved only in my brain.

I do enjoy all of the gangs photos.
Good stuff, from the old camo/cars and rigs to the new, of course ....all the critters n scenery.

Glad you guys took pics smile

Some impressive beasts as well.

I'm just a lowly in state deer/small game killer, and most of em avg at best.
Hell its hard to kill em these days. Rather just watch.

Get my shoulder and back fixed and think about out of state for something different.

It is difficult being such a ladies man. I work hard at it.

Caribou is in season, but no tag for this guy and no desire for velveted antlers.

This was what I was after though he was in a horrible spot for a stalk. He'll have to wait for another day.

Looks like a legal one for sure T.

No belly crawling, commando sniper, ninja sneak you could put on him?

I had an old friend tell me if anything happened to his house, he would get his pictures first, then favored guns.. He said the pictures could never be replaced. How true.. My first wife has been gone for 15 years, my pictures of her are my treasurers.. Never can replace those pictures or those times...

He was too far to go after that evening. I'd of had to drop over 1000 vertical, then climb easily 1500 vertical to get to him, across a lot of scree. There were ewes and sub legal rams below him and to the side, which I am sure I would have spooked. That's not to mention I was already 7-8 miles from camp. I have learned that if a critter is not in a good position for a stalk and there's time left to hunt, don't try it. Wait for another day, when they're in a better position.
