Colorado
Arizona

do they all require an archery safety class?

Just won a new bow, and need to plan for the fall.
also need to send 1000 arrows downfield again after a decade of rifle-banging.
thanks

No archery ed is required in AZ. Hunter ed is required for those aged 10-13.

From the Idaho Fish and Game website (http://fishandgame.idaho.gov/cms/education/hunter_ed/):

Hunter Education Course

Anyone born after January 1, 1975 must complete a hunter education course in order to purchase an Idaho hunting license or show proof that they previously held a valid hunting license in Idaho or another state.
All students must be 10 years old by the next general hunting season and must meet the knowledge and skill standards outlined in the course curriculum to receive their course certificate.
3 course options for hunter education:
Instructor-led - a traditional classroom course.
Independent Study - a workbook-based course.
Independent Study - an interactive internet course.
Class and registration information is listed by region in the sidebar links on the right.

Bowhunter Hunter Education Course

To purchase an archery-only hunting permit a person must complete the Idaho Bowhunter Education Course or show proof of having completed an approved bowhunter education course in another state or proof that the person previously held a valid archery permit in Idaho or another state.
In addition, the Hunter Education Course must also be completed by anyone born after January 1, 1975, unless the person can show proof they previously held a valid hunting license in Idaho or another state.
2 course options for bowhunter education:
Instructor-led - a traditional classroom course.
Independent Study - an interactive internet course.

From the Colorado Division of Wildlife website (http://wildlife.state.co.us/NR/rdon...263-7DE1CE74B424/0/index_information.pdf):

HUNTER EDUCATION (SAFETY)
Hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1949, must have completed an
approved hunter education course or bowhunter education course (for
archery licenses only) sanctioned by a state or province before applying
for or purchasing a license. Colorado honors hunter education
courses from other states and provinces. You must present an original
hunter safety card when buying a license. You must carry your
hunter education card when hunting unless Verified is printed
by the DOW on your license.
