Did it a couple of years ago. Southern VA to eastern PA. Hate it. The people are hostile. The drivers are nuts. The travel baseball teams suck. The private school is better for the boy, though.

Yes, working on doing now. Kids/family are most important, everything else is just fleeting. More room for them, better schools, less “scumy” ppl. Want them to be safe bc and provided for. Sold a bunch of gun collection, and some other toys but in end it’s great knowing that it will be better for us as a family

My dad sat us down when we was young and asked us if moving and money was important because of a good job offer. We all looked at one another and said we was happy where we was. I still thank him for letting us kids make the decision instead of making us. We was pretty poor but happiness is what meant the most and it still does!

That’s how I ended up in WV. Great decision to vacate the People’s Republic of Maryland and move to America. The woman I moved here to please is long-gone, another raisin in my cookie.🍪

It was the best thing that we could have done for our children. They went to a good school district and grew up in a mostly conservative military town.
I would do it again

Sounds like Grayling? Skips sport shop still there?

Pin the tail on the donkey!
Yep, Skip’s is still there, barely making it.

Moved here in 1984 with a Son being born deaf, Just to be closer to Iowa School for the Deaf.

No big regrets, But I do miss family and friends.

Other than that, life has treated me well and I made new friends.

Jbmi: Yes - greatest "family" decision I've ever made (leaving my lifelong homestate of taxington and moving to Montana 24 years ago!)!

It's hell on earth.

15 moves for me since 1991 until we got here in 2016.

And that doesn't count the twice yearly seasonal moves of clothes, hunting and fishing equipment from E WA to wherever my wife was working at the time.

Kinda sucked a bit. But I guess I got to see/work in a whole lot of diverse parts of the US of A.

15 moves?

Wtf ?

You and the wife are modern day Bonnie and Clydes
