Thoughts on these two rounds? Seem to be about the only things with consistent, reasonable supply...

I've killed a few whitetails with the Hornady ammo and found is to be quite accurate in the 243 and 6.5 CM. I prefer the Winchester Deer Season XP for whitetails, but I'm a behind the shoulder lung shooter and can get by with a more fragile, faster expanding, bullet.
I have not seen any Norma Whitetail, but I've shoot a few thousand rounds of Norma factory loads over the years and always found it to be reliable.

The hornady American white tail is loaded with interlocks in my opinion the best cup n core bullet on the market hands down better than Corloks and power points I hand load all my stuff but fell into 8 boxes of factory loads that I zeroed one rifle in with its just as good even out to 300 yards

American whitetail Hornady ammo is good..my XS-7 in 7-08 shot the 139 gr interlock load moa right out of the box. In the last week or so our local Scheels got in a.pile of the.Norma whitetail ammo 30-06,270,& 308 all 27.99/ box. In this day and age that is a hell of a deal. Mb

The Hornady American Whitetail ammo has been very accurate in my rifles and performed well on deer. I have always found the lead in Interlock bullets to be a little harder alloy than some cup and core bullets. That being the case I have "RARELY" had a Interlock fail to exit a deer from any angle.

When factory ammo was plentiful, American Whitetail, Fusions, or Fed blue box were my suggestions for accurate budget-loads. Fusions have been harder to find lately.

Never tried Norma whitetail. The Hornady American whitetail shoots good in my 6.5 Creedmoor but my .30-06 hates the stuff. The '06 will do sub MOA with Fusions or Federal blue box but 2" groups with the 150 gr. Hornady.

No experience with the Norma, but I’ve shot a half dozen or so with the Hornady in .243 And none have taken a step.

I've only tried the Hornady Whitetail load in 6.5 CM and it shot a four shot group that is the best group ever fired through the rifle at 100 metres. The group was about 0.4 inch. Some of my hand loads have come close, especially the same 129gn Interlock bullet loaded with H4350 to the same velocity as the factory load.

Norma. Plus it leaves you with seriously quality brass.. Just got 400 rounds of the new Norma Oryx .308 150gr. This is their bonded bullet. Serious penetration. Gonna make this my hog hunting ammo this year.

I have found the 150 grain Norma Whitetail ammo to be extremely accurate and consistent out of my .308 Win.

Frankly, I hope Norma can help ease the ammo crunch here some, and become a player all around in the ammo market.
Lord knows there's room for growth. Especially since Biden banned Russian ammo, that took a lot of slack up from people just wanting to shoot, but not spend a fortune.

Buddy of mine bought a browning x bolt and 2 cases the Norma ammo (was all he could find 150 gr ) don't know about kill performance but accuracy wise they were great. Gun is consistently shoot just under an inch at 100 with 5 Shot groups

I have tried the hornady white tail and was not impressed at all. Accuracy was really good but the bullets did not perform. Maybe because it was a "reduced Load" from factory and they really reduced the load... I don't know. It was all I could find in the store. But my experience with three deer was one went to the freezer and two were never found. The one that went home had three rounds in him. It was not bad shooting. It was bad bullet performance. But, I am just one and there are many who really like the Hornady White Tail.

They make a reduced AW load? What chambering? I know the SST Lite loads are a Hornady product.

I haven't killed anything with either, but bought it over the last 6 months or so due to availability. Hornady American Whitetail 150gr groups very well out of my Win M94 Short Rifle. Norma Whitetail is good, too. I've tried .308 and out of my Win M70 Featherweight I've gotten sub 1" groups. I got some in .300 WM, too. .270 has been hard to come by so I ordered some Norma from https://normashooting.com/shop/caliber/rifle/270/270-win-130-gr-norma-whitetail-soft-point/
